Armenia Rejects Moscow's Humanitarian Aid for Armenians Who Left Karabakh Voluntarily

Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on Armenia's rejection of Moscow's humanitarian aid for Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh.

Zakharova said during a briefing today that Armenia’s refusal of Russia’s aid is not understandable, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

She noted that refusing assistance would be understandable only if there were no longer any need for such aid.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphasized that official Yerevan refused the assistance, citing Armenia’s legal norms that restrict donations and charitable aid during the pre-election period: “Moscow asked Armenia to clarify the issue, but Armenian officials found it difficult to provide an answer. All of this looks like an attempt to ‘cleanse’ Russia from the minds of Armenians.”
