As of early April 2025, Armenia's state debt reached 5.32 trillion drams, marking a 4.4% increase compared to the end of 2024.
In dollar terms, the debt reached $13.581 billion, an increase of 5.8%, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan said at a press conference on Friday, The Caspian Post reports citing Report.
The ratio of public debt to GDP decreased by 0.1% compared to last year.
Hovhannisyan also said that the share of domestic debt increased, amounting to 50%.
The state debt at the end of 2024 amounted to about 5.93 trillion drams (approximately $12.8 billion). In nominal terms, it grew by 6.2% compared to the end of 2023, however, in relation to GDP, it remained virtually unchanged - 48.3%, which is 0.1 percentage points lower than last year's level.
