A new spike in intestinal infections has been reported in Byureghavan, Armenia, with six people seeking medical assistance.

Three of those affected have been hospitalized and are receiving treatment in the infectious diseases department, while the other three were treated on an outpatient basis, according to news.armenia.

The latest cases come after health authorities carried out regular water testing in the city throughout August.

According to the Health Ministry, specialists collected drinking water samples once a week throughout August for laboratory analysis. The tests reportedly did not identify any abnormalities.

Another round of checks was launched following the latest infections.

Employees of Armenia’s Health and Disease Control and Prevention Inspectorate, together with representatives of water supplier Veolia Jur, are expected to collect new drinking water samples for testing.
