A teacher in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province has been accused of beating a second-grade girl, with the child reportedly missing classes because of injuries and psychological trauma.
The incident occurred on September 30, according to Sputnik Armenia.
The girl’s aunt said the child returned home that day with visible marks on her neck and arms, while her eyes were swollen. The teacher has denied wrongdoing and, according to the family, urged parents at a meeting to tell their children that they “saw and heard nothing.”
The family has not filed a police report. However, relatives are demanding that the teacher be removed from the school and no longer be allowed to work with children.
The girl’s relatives have already appealed to the regional administration. They were reportedly told that dismissing the teacher would require a complaint signed by at least seven parents.
