United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will visit Yerevan on October 15-16 to attend the COP17 biodiversity conference, with meetings planned with Armenia’s top officials.

Guterres will hold bilateral talks with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric announced during a briefing, according to UN News.

On October 16, the UN chief will participate in the COP17 conference, which will include the leaders’ summit.

The main part of COP17 is scheduled to take place from October 19 to 30.
