Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is expanding its presence in Armenia, increasing the number of aircraft based at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport to four.

The airline will also launch three new international routes from Yerevan to Basel, Varna and Valencia, Wizz Air Chief Commercial Officer Ian Malin announced, according to Armenpress.

Flights to Basel, Switzerland, will begin on December 18, with three services per week. From December 19, Wizz Air will operate two weekly flights to Valencia, Spain.

The new route to Varna, Bulgaria, is scheduled to launch on June 6 next year.

The addition of a fourth aircraft at the Yerevan base from December 17 will also allow Wizz Air to increase flight frequencies on several existing routes.

Flights from Yerevan to Prague, Czech Republic, will rise to five per week, while services to Memmingen, Germany, will operate four times a week.
