Armenian and Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speakers Agree to Keep Dialogue Open

As part of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul, Türkiye, a bilateral meeting took place between the speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

During the meeting, recent processes aimed at strengthening peace and stability, as well as establishing and expanding trade relations between the two countries, were noted with satisfaction, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

The role of the IPU Assembly as an important platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized, and the efforts of IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong in facilitating dialogue between the parliamentary speakers of Azerbaijan and Armenia were appreciated, with gratitude expressed to him.

The speakers positively assessed the contacts between parliamentary delegations within international organizations following their meeting in Geneva in October 2025, and agreed to continue these contacts.

During the meeting, the speakers highlighted the importance of continuing constructive parliamentary dialogue to further strengthen trust between the two societies.
