Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has met with his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Naeem Wardak in Baku to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The two officials discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including economic, trade, transit and transport, diplomatic, humanitarian, and consular areas, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
Both sides emphasised the importance of deepening ties between the two countries.
Mammadov expressed gratitude to Afghanistan for its clear and unwavering support of Azerbaijan’s just position during the conflict.
The significance of the upcoming 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), in which the Afghan delegation is expected to participate, was also highlighted.
Afghanistan’s deputy foreign minister thanked the Azerbaijani side for its invitation to take part in international events, noting that such initiatives foster dialogue and mutual understanding between nations.
The two sides also exchanged views on current regional developments.
