Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani in New York during his working visit to the US, as Azerbaijan and Bahrain moved to deepen political and economic cooperation.
The talks focused on expanding bilateral ties in key areas including political dialogue, trade, economic partnership and multilateral cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Azertac.
The ministers highlighted the importance of closer coordination within international organizations such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
Both sides also welcomed the recent opening of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Bahrain, describing it as an important step toward strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Regional security and developments in the Middle East were also high on the agenda. The ministers stressed the need to maintain regional stability, support diplomatic dialogue and prevent further escalation in the region.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on broader regional and international issues of mutual interest, underscoring growing cooperation between Baku and Manama.
