Azerbaijan’s State Security Service (SSS) has detained an individual accused of blackmailing the family of President Ilham Aliyev.

The case was highlighted in a segment aired by the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV), which provided details of the investigation, The Caspion Post reports.

According to the report, since the beginning of the year, bloggers Mehman and Emin Huseynov, along with Gabil Mammadov - all residing abroad - have been spreading defamatory content about Alena Aliyeva on various online platforms.

The segment also noted that Mehman Huseynov had displayed part of a photograph during one of his live broadcasts.

ITV raised questions about the origin of the alleged fabricated videos and images, noting that the bloggers claimed to have received them from certain individuals.
