Azerbaijan Extends Condolences to Portugal After Lisbon Funicular Derailment

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has expressed its condolences to Portugal following the tragic derailment of the "Glória" funicular in Lisbon.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic funicular derailment in Lisbon's Gloria line. We express heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s message on X.

On September 3, a derailment of the "Glória" funicular, one of Lisbon’s iconic landmarks, resulted in the deaths of 17 people and left more than 20 others injured.
