The adoption of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) Implementation Framework is an important step toward launching practical work, Aykhan Hajizada, spokesman for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The adoption of the mentioned document, in addition to once again demonstrating the U.S. side’s commitment to the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington Summit on 8 August, is an important step toward starting practical work in this area. It is also important in terms of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Armenia,” the spokesman stressed, The Caspian Post reports.
“Ensuring unimpeded connectivity between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is one of the country’s main priorities. The TRIPP route is also important in terms of diversifying trade and connections in the wider region,” Hajizada added.
The comments came after it was announced that on January 13, during the visit of the Armenian foreign minister to the United States, the TRIPP Implementation Framework document had been made public.
A reminder that TRIPP is an initiative intended to ensure unimpeded transit between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic strengthening regional connectivity across the South Caucasus.
