Azerbaijan, Iran Discuss Bilateral Ties, Joint Infrastructure Projects

As part of his working visit to Tehran, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov held a meeting with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref.

The parties discussed the current state of Azerbaijan-Iran relations and explored prospects for cooperation in economic, trade, investment, transport, transit, oil and gas, energy and humanitarian sectors, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers.

They also focused on the implementation of infrastructure projects, including the creation of road and railway connections, the establishment of the Eastern Zangezur-Nakhchivan transport corridor through Iran, and the development of the North-South corridor.

Furthermore, the Azerbaijani and Iranian oficials addressed environmental concerns in the Caspian Sea, focusing on efforts to prevent pollution and mitigate water level decline.
