Azerbaijan remains committed to fostering North-South dialogue, the country's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, said on Friday.

Speaking at the 50th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of 77 and China on "The Global South and the Future of Multilateralism" on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly, Bayramov emphasized that inclusive multilateralism is a vital necessity for safeguarding national sovereignty and driving economic progress across the developing world, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.

He underscored Azerbaijan's institutional commitment to reforming global governance structures and fostering North-South dialogue to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Minister Bayramov highlighted the historic revival of the Joint Coordinating Committee between the Non-Aligned Movement and the G77 during Azerbaijan’s NAM Chairmanship as a major milestone in elevating collaborative action.

He also reaffirmed Azerbaijan's unwavering solidarity with Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) through targeted humanitarian assistance and capacity-building programs.
