Azerbaijan is expanding its international energy portfolio through renewable energy projects, strategic partnerships and infrastructure designed to connect regional markets with Europe.
Speaking on the Business Horizons program, SOCAR Green CEO Elmir Musayev outlined plans to develop more than 1.5 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity, according to
The projects include the construction of solar and wind power plants, the deployment of battery energy storage systems and plans for a submarine cable running along the bottom of the Black Sea.
The expansion is already taking shape on the ground. Faghan Abdurahmanov, deputy director of Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, highlighted the solar power plant in Gobustan, where sunlight is converted into electricity and fed into the national power grid.
