Nearly One-Third of Azerbaijan’s Power Is Now Renewable

Azerbaijan is nearing a 30 percent share of renewable energy in its daily electricity generation, according to the country's Energy Ministry.

At present, about 30 percent of the electricity produced in the country comes from renewable sources, The Caspian Post reports.

On April 6, Azerbaijan generated a total of 62.6 million kWh of electricity. Of this amount, 18.2 million kWh, or 29.1 percent, was produced from renewable energy sources.

Within the composition of this “green” energy, 12.4 million kWh was generated by hydroelectric power plants, while 5.8 million kWh came from solar and wind power plants.
