Renewable energy sources made up 36.5% of Azerbaijan's electricity production over the past day, according to the Ministry of Energy.
According to the ministry, on April 20, a total of 64.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was generated, of which 23.5 million kilowatt-hours produced from renewable sources, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
Of the renewable electricity produced, 15.9 million kilowatt-hours were generated by hydropower plants, while 7.6 million kilowatt-hours came from solar and wind power plants.
Wind and solar energy accounted for 12 percent of the total electricity generation.
