Azerbaijan's Silk Way West Airlines has been awarded the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) certification by the British Standards Institution (BSI), marking a major milestone in the airline’s environmental sustainability efforts.
The internationally recognized certification highlights the airline’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact through improved resource efficiency, pollution control, and climate-conscious operations, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
“This achievement strengthens our reputation and demonstrates our dedication to building trust with customers, partners, and regulatory authorities,” said Wolfgang Meier, President of Silk Way West Airlines.
Implementing ISO 14001 will help the airline meet regulatory requirements, improve operational efficiency, and embed a culture of sustainability across the organization.
Following this accomplishment, Silk Way West Airlines plans to further advance its environmental strategy through internal sustainability initiatives, staff training, and additional certifications, including ISO 50001 for energy management, as well as participation in global reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
