Officials from the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, the Permanent Mission to the FAO, and the country's Cultural Center in Rome took part in the 56th UNWG International Festival Charity Bazaar, held at the FAO headquarters in Rome.
The event, organized by the UN Women's Guild (UNWG), featured Azerbaijani stand which showcased samples of Azerbaijani cuisine, national souvenirs and handicrafts, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.
FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu and UN Women's Guild President Rose Mary Vargas delivered opening remarks at the event. They stressed the growing hunger crisis in the world and the importance of collaborative action for addressing it effectively.

The charity event aims to provide assistance to children and women in need worldwide. Various countries performed their cultural programs and organized the sale of national products.
Alongside Azerbaijan, this year's event was attended by the embassies of Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Senegal, Thailand, and Peru in Italy.
All proceeds from the charity will benefit children in need.
