Azerbaijani Army Holds Events to Celebrate Youth Day

In line with a plan approved by Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Azerbaijan Army organized a series of celebratory events on February 2 to commemorate the Day of Azerbaijani Youth.

The events began with a tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed, The Caspian Post reports via the Ministry of Defense.

During the ceremonies, speakers highlighted that the solemn celebration of Youth Day is linked to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who, upon his return to power, laid the foundation of Azerbaijan’s state youth policy-now successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The events featured performances by creative ensembles from the Hazi Aslanov Army Ideological and Cultural Center, the Ganja Garrison Ideological and Cultural Center, and regional cultural departments.
