Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 1 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional issues.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of high-level events in the Kyrgyz capital, bringing together leaders from across the region, Azertac reports.

During the meeting, the leaders emphasized that Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations are rooted in brotherhood and a strategic alliance, expressing satisfaction with the continued expansion of bilateral ties across all areas.

They particularly stressed that the two countries consistently stand by each other in line with the principle of “one nation, two states.”

The presidents also exchanged views on further strengthening regional peace and stability. They discussed the prospects for deepening the bilateral alliance, the regional agenda, and other issues of mutual interest.
