A meeting between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian is underway in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The two leaders are meeting in the Kyrgyz capital amid a series of high-level diplomatic engagements taking place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, Azertac reports.

President Aliyev arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic on a working visit to participate in events of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

An official welcoming ceremony was held for the Azerbaijani leader at Manas International Airport, where an honor guard was lined up in his honor.

President Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed at the airport by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

The president's visit comes as Bishkek hosts high-level SCO meetings, bringing together leaders and senior officials to discuss regional and international cooperation.
