A cargo ship carrying 11 Azerbaijani citizens reportedly sank in the Black Sea while sailing from Türkiye to Moldova.

The vessel, identified as the Svetoslava, is reportedly owned by Cunda and operates under the flag of Palau. It was traveling overnight from the Turkish port of Samsun to Moldova’s Giurgiulești port when it sank for reasons that remain unclear, according to "Support for Azerbaijani Sailors" public association.

There were Azerbaijani, Turkish and Russian citizens among those on board.

All crew members were reportedly rescued after coast guard forces arrived at the scene in time to assist the vessel.

The rescued sailors were taken to hospital, with their condition described as satisfactory.
