Azerbaijani First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev has held a series of high-level meetings during his official visit to Uruguay to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations.
In a meeting with Uruguay’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Valeria Csukasi, Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s economic growth and ongoing efforts to improve the investment climate, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
He noted that six agreements have been signed so far between the two countries, covering sectors such as economy, customs, and culture, and stressed the potential for further expanding trade and investment cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of mutual visits and dialogues in enhancing bilateral ties.
During talks with Uruguay’s Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining, Fernanda Cardona, Aliyev underlined the opportunities for Uruguayan companies to invest in Azerbaijan. He pointed out collaboration prospects in renewable energy, green technologies, infrastructure, transportation, and industry, highlighting the Alat Free Economic Zone as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
Aliyev also met with Cecilia San Román, President of Uruguay’s National Administration of Fuels, Alcohol, and Ports (ANCAP), where discussions focused on cooperation in the energy sector, knowledge sharing, and joint projects, particularly in green energy and advanced technologies.
