EU's High Rep Arrives in Azerbaijan on Official Visit

Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, has arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit.

The information was confirmed by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, highlighting the significance of the visit amid ongoing dialogue between Baku and Brussels, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

Relations between European Union and Azerbaijan have developed steadily since the country’s independence, built on cooperation in energy, trade, and regional security.

Azerbaijan is a key energy partner for the EU, supplying natural gas to Europe through the Southern Gas Corridor, which plays an important role in diversifying the bloc’s energy sources and reducing reliance on single suppliers. Trade between the two sides has grown significantly, with the EU remaining one of Azerbaijan’s largest trading partners.

Beyond energy, cooperation also covers areas such as transport connectivity, economic reforms, and digital development.
