Former Azerbaijan national under-21 football team head coach Bernhard Lippert is set to visit Baku this week for the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival.

“I will be in Baku on Wednesday [October 21]. My visit is related to the U-15 World Cup, as I work as a FIFA expert,” the 64-year-old German football expert said, according to Report.

The U-15 World Cup and Festival will take place from October 22 to 30 at the Hovsan Sports Complex. The opening ceremony and the tournament’s final will be held at Baku Crystal Hall.

Lippert worked as an assistant to fellow German coach Berti Vogts with Azerbaijan’s national team from 2009 to 2014.

He also served as technical director of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) from 2008 to 2020 and coached the country’s U-21 team from 2009 to 2014.

His most recent role was with Ghana’s national football setup, where he served as technical director from 2020 until October 2023.
