Israeli defense company Elbit Systems has proposed localizing the production of its products in Azerbaijan in cooperation with local partners.
Miki Levin, Elbit Systems’ Senior Vice President and Head of Regional Business Development, made the remarks on the sidelines of ADEX-2026 in Baku, according to Report.
Levin said that the company is working closely with Azerbaijan and is exploring opportunities to further expand cooperation.
He said the relationship between Elbit Systems and Azerbaijan has developed beyond purely commercial ties.
“This is our closest customer, and today, also a friend. Therefore, the areas of cooperation are constantly expanding,” Levin said.
One of the key areas under consideration is the local production of Elbit Systems’ defense products in Azerbaijan in partnership with Azerbaijani companies.
The products could serve Azerbaijan’s domestic market as well as markets in the region and other countries, Levin said.
The company is also considering the digitalization of Azerbaijan’s armed forces as a major area of cooperation. Levin said that the two sides are approaching the start of work in this field.
Other potential areas include rocket artillery, including the localization of its production, as well as loitering munitions.
