Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ronen Krausz has expressed confidence that, over time, more displaced Azerbaijanis will return to their native lands.
Speaking to journalists during his visit to Zangilan, the ambassador noted that it was his first trip to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and praised the country’s progress in post-conflict reconstruction and development, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
Krausz said that he had heard much about Shusha and was very pleased to have finally visited the historic city. He recalled telling President Ilham Aliyev during their first meeting that he would travel to Karabakh as soon as possible, noting that he found the ongoing reconstruction efforts and rapid development in the region truly impressive.
Krausz added that during the visit, the delegation toured several villages and towns that had been destroyed during the conflict. He emphasized that the ongoing large-scale infrastructure projects - including new roads, tunnels, bridges, and other developments - leave a strong impression.
The ambassador said that he believed, over time, an increasing number of people who had once been displaced from their homes would return to their ancestral lands.
