A mine incident occurred on September 28 in the village of Jamillar in Azerbaijan’s liberated Shusha district, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor General’s Office and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) said in a joint statement.

According to the statement, a vehicle driven by Baku resident Bakhtiyar Mirza oghlu Bayramov, born in 1979, struck an anti-tank mine in an area where demining operations were still underway, The Caspian Post reports.

Bayramov sustained injuries of varying severity in the incident.

The Shusha District Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office called on citizens to follow safety rules, pay attention to mine warning signs and avoid unfamiliar areas.
