Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Giorgi Zakarashvili, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Azerbaijan.

Kobakhidze congratulated Zakarashvili on his appointment and wished him success in his new post, according to Imedi.

The meeting highlighted the importance of the ambassador’s role in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Zakarashvili will officially begin serving as Georgia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan on October 1.

He has extensive experience working at Georgia’s Foreign Ministry and in the country’s diplomatic missions abroad.
