Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev held a limited-format meeting with US Vice President JD Vance in Baku on Tuesday.

The information was released by the Azerbaijani President's press service, The Caspian Post reports.

Prior to the meeting, an official welcome ceremony was held for Vance in Baku.

A guard of honor was lined up for the US vice president in the square decorated with the national flags of both countries.

President Aliyev welcomed JD Vance.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to the US vice president.

The national anthems of the US and Azerbaijan were then performed.

The members of the Azerbaijani delegation were presented to JD Vance, while the members of the US delegation were introduced to the Azerbaijani president.

The guard of honor marched past President Aliyev and JD Vance to the accompaniment of a military march.

They posed together for photographs.
