Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved changes in the composition of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
The updated structure of the commission reflects adjustments aimed at strengthening bilateral economic coordination, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani president's website.
Under the new arrangement, Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov has been appointed as the Azerbaijani co-chair of the commission. Previously, the position was held by the minister of energy.
The revised composition also includes the deputy minister of energy, the deputy minister of ecology and natural resources, and the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Cabinet of Ministers.
