On July 24, Birol Akgün, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, visited the city of Nakhchivan.
The Turkish diplomat first laid flowers at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.
He then visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum and viewed exhibits highlighting the life and political legacy of the National Leader.
Ambassador Akgün subsequently visited the Alley of Martyrs in Nakhchivan, where he laid flowers at the Mother Monument and at the monument to Turkish soldiers who died fighting against Armenian Dashnaks in Nakhchivan. He also paid tribute by placing flowers at the monument to the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
