The winners of the “Baku Marathon 2026” have been revealed after a high-energy race that brought together 25,000 participants under the slogan “Win the Wind.”
Organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the event saw Ahmet Alkanoğlu from Türkiye take first place in the men’s category, crossing the finish line ahead of Vitaliy Shafar from Ukraine and Yrskeldi Akerov from Kyrgyzstan, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
In the women’s race, Elena Tolstykh from Russia claimed victory, while Anna Yusupova secured second place for Azerbaijan. Shirin Akimbay from Kazakhstan finished third.
The 9th edition of the marathon welcomed runners from across the globe, including the United States, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Uzbekistan, and more-highlighting the growing international appeal of the race in Baku.
