Xsolla Expands Presence in Azerbaijan, Turning Baku into Regional Hub for Gaming Innovation

Global gaming giant Xsolla is rapidly expanding its presence in Azerbaijan, transforming the country into a regional hub for gaming technologies, digital innovation, and exports.

The company’s partnership with the Innovation Agency IDDA, launched in December 2024, is already delivering real results, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Under the leadership of Regional Managing Director Fuad Karimov, Xsolla has opened a local office in Baku and secured Technopark residency, positioning itself at the heart of Azerbaijan’s growing tech ecosystem.

Through the Xsolla-IDDA Incubation Program, the company has introduced mentorships, workshops, and studio support to help nurture local gaming talent. Since its launch in May 2025, the program has become Azerbaijan’s first international gaming incubation initiative. Ten teams completed a three-month mentorship led by global experts and showcased their projects on Demo Day, with top developers receiving cash grants from IDDA to continue development.

Looking ahead, Xsolla and IDDA plan to expand their collaboration through Xsolla Academy, accelerator programs, and new incubation cycles, connecting Azerbaijani developers to global gaming markets.

Azerbaijan now also hosts Xsolla’s third global R&D center, which is set to evolve into a regional research and innovation hub, reinforcing the country’s role as a leader in gaming across the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Backed by strong government support and partnerships with major global players, Azerbaijan’s gaming sector is gaining momentum-creating new opportunities in education, employment, and content development inspired by the nation’s rich culture and history.
