Azerbaijani FM Briefs EU Envoy on Baku-Yerevan Peace Process

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday held a meeting with Magdalena Grono, the European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

The discussions centered on the current status and future prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, the Baku-Yerevan peace process, as well as key regional and global developments, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The sides also reviewed collaboration between Azerbaijan and the EU across political, economic, transport, energy security, and other sectors. They examined agreements reached within existing cooperation platforms and mechanisms and exchanged views on possible future steps.

Minister Bayramov briefed the EU envoy on the advancements and prospects of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, highlighting Azerbaijan’s stance regarding this process. The meeting commended efforts and confidence-building measures undertaken within the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

The meeting also addressed other bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.
