German Logistics Giant to Build 14 Terminals From Central Asia to Türkiye

German logistics giant Rhenus Group is preparing to build a network of 14 terminals along the Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), starting with a new trimodal container terminal in Aktau, Kazakhstan.

The company is working with Kazakhstan’s national railway operator, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), and the Port of Aktau to develop a new multimodal logistics hub on the Caspian Sea, according to Euronews.

“Overall, we plan to build 14 terminals along the Middle Corridor - from Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to Türkiye. We then want to connect them with our network in Europe, where we already have 23 container ports and around 70 port facilities,” Rhenus Group CEO and Chairman Tobias Bartz said.

The planned network would strengthen the logistics infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, linking Central Asia and the South Caucasus with Türkiye and Rhenus Group’s existing European network.
