Turkic States Organization, US Step Up Cooperation Talks

Senior officials from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the US have discussed ways to expand cooperation during a meeting in Washington, highlighting growing engagement between the two sides.

Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with US Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur to review the organization’s evolving role and future priorities, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Omuraliev emphasized the transformation of the OTS into a more results-oriented regional body, with expanding cooperation across political, economic, technological, and security fields. He also underscored the organization’s contribution to regional stability and stronger interconnectivity.

Kapur noted that the US president places significant importance on deepening partnerships with the OTS region, particularly in attracting investment and advancing transport and logistics connectivity. He highlighted the strategic relevance of Central Asia and the South Caucasus in this context.

The talks also covered multimodal transport routes, economic and energy cooperation, and potential areas for further strengthening ties between the Organization of Turkic States and the US.
