The Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo hosted a Christmas-New Year concert, co-organized by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo, and the Amadeus Foundation.
The musical evening, held in a festive atmosphere, brought together attendees from different age groups, highlighting the unifying power of culture, The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.
Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević emphasized that the concert carried special and symbolic significance.
The event also featured performances of works by the founder of professional Azerbaijani music, prominent composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, in celebration of his 140th anniversary.
Maestro Emir Nuhanović, a member of the Board of the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo, noted that the program encompassed a broad musical palette stretching from East to West. He said that performing Hajibeyli’s works alongside compositions by European classical composers such as Mendelssohn, Monti, Schubert, and Strauss once again demonstrated the universality of the Azerbaijani composer’s music and its power to build bridges between different cultures.
