The CA456 flight will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The flight from Chengdu to Almaty takes approximately 3.5 hours, while the return journey lasts around 5 hours.
Almaty is currently connected to 60 cities worldwide via direct flights, with 13 new destinations added in 2025.
The Almaty city authority noted that the new route to Chengdu, located in Sichuan province, will strengthen business and tourism ties between Kazakhstan and China, while providing new opportunities to promote tourism in the region.
