Apple removed 1,213 apps from the Russian App Store in 2025.

According to the App Store transparency report, the moderation process was carried out following official requests from government authorities, The Caspian Post informs, citing RBC.

With this figure, Russia has become the global leader in the number of iOS apps removed. Vietnam ranks second with 335 removed apps, followed by China with 196, South Korea with 108, and India with 54.

Statistics indicate a sharp rise in app removals: only 7 apps were removed in 2022, 12 in 2023, and 171 in 2024, while the number exceeded 1,000 in 2025.

Among high-profile cases, the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow in January ordered the blocking of a voice-changing application used for phone calls, while in December the built-in FaceTime video calling service was also blocked.
