From January to July 2025, Azerbaijan imported 7,814 tons of tea, totaling $47.587 million in value, according to the country's State Customs Committee.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of tea imports decreased by 528 tons (6.3%), while the value increased by $4.614 million (10.7%). Tea-related expenditures accounted for 0.35% of Azerbaijan's total import costs during this period, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.
In the same seven-month span, Azerbaijan exported 430 tons of tea worth $3.905 million. This represents a 7.7% increase in volume (31 tons) and an 8.8% rise in value ($317,000) compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
Revenue from tea exports made up just 0.03% of Azerbaijan's total export earnings during the reporting period.
