Iran Emerges as Top Buyer of Russian Grain

Iran has become the largest destination for Russian grain since the beginning of the 2026-27 agricultural year.

Between July 1 and September 8, 2026, Russia exported 913,700 tons of grain to Iran, placing it first among buyers during the period, The Caspian Post reports, citing Interfax.

Egypt ranked second, receiving 846,800 tons of Russian grain over the same period.

Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Sudan were also among the major importers of Russian grain, along with several other countries.

The figures cover the initial period of Russia’s current agricultural year, which began on July 1, 2026.
