Iran, Uzbekistan to Launch Direct Flights Between Mashhad, Samarkand

A delegation led by the Governor General of Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province, Gholam Mozaffari, visited the Uzbek city of Samarkand.

Samarkand hosted the Uzbekistan - Iran Business Forum with the participation of senior officials of the regional Hokimiyat and the tourism industry, local tour operators, and members of the Iranian delegation, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

At the opening of the forum, Deputy Hokim of Samarkand region R. Qobilov and Director General of Khorasan Razavi Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Seyyedjavad Mousavi spoke about the importance of this event and the expected results.

The event included a presentation of the tourism potential of Razavi Khorasan province and Samarkand.

This forum, organized on the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, will last until March 1 and will include meetings and business forums with travel companies operating in Samarkand and Bukhara regions, the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and entrepreneurs.
