Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Nvidia Vice President Rev Lebaredian to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and computing infrastructure.
Tokayev noted Nvidia's key role in shaping the global artificial intelligence ecosystem and stressed the importance of expanding the practical use of AI across Kazakhstan’s priority economic sectors, The Caspian Post reports, citing Akorda.
The sides noted that their mutually beneficial cooperation has already established a strong practical foundation. In particular, two supercomputing clusters based on Nvidia technologies have been launched in Kazakhstan.
Particular attention was given to the implementation of the Data Center Valley project in Ekibastuz. The project envisages the development of computing infrastructure with a capacity of approximately 300 MW, with the potential to increase it to 1 GW.
Tokayev emphasized the importance of agreements reached with Nvidia and Firebird for the successful implementation of the project.
Lebaredian, for his part, highly praised the progress made in developing AI infrastructure in Kazakhstan and outlined Nvidia's plans to participate in the next stage of the Data Center Valley project.
The meeting also covered the development of Kazakhstan’s human capital and technology ecosystem.
