Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan Set to Expand Weekly Flights to 238

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are planning a significant expansion in air connectivity, with the total number of permitted weekly flights between the two countries set to reach 238.

Negotiations were held between the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the second conference of the Central Asia - China working group on cooperation in civil aviation, which took place in Astana, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

During the meeting, the sides agreed to increase the number of regular flights between the two countries. In particular, carriers were granted permission to operate up to 42 flights per week on each of the Almaty - Tashkent and Astana - Tashkent routes. For all other destinations, airlines will be allowed to operate up to 7 flights per week.

If the airlines of both countries fully implement flights on all agreed routes, the total permitted frequency will reach 238 flights per week.

The sides also agreed to expand the list of routes for regular air services.

At the conclusion of the talks, both parties confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and to implement joint initiatives aimed at further developing air travel and strengthening cooperation.
