Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency, stated that disruptions in oil supply caused by the ongoing conflict will be twice as severe in April as they were in March, with the effects soon to be felt in Europe.
So far, the war has caused a loss of some 12 million barrels per day of oil supply, while damaging around 40 key regional energy assets, Birol told a podcast with Nicolai Tangen, the head of Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.
“The biggest problem today is the lack of jet fuel and diesel.
“We are seeing that in Asia, but soon, I think, in April or May, it would come to Europe.”
