The 4th meeting of the Subcommission on Culture of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of partnership in culture and paid attention to cinematography issues. During the conversation, joint projects, the possibility of exchanging experience and organizing cultural events that can help strengthen ties between the countries were considered. Along with this, the importance of supporting young talents in cinema and art was noted, which will create new cultural initiatives and expand the horizons of cooperation, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
“I would like to note that the third meeting was held in May 2023 in Tashkent, and since then, several significant projects for both countries have been implemented. One of the key events was the signing of cooperation agreements in joint film production. This is very important for our filmmakers, as they now have the opportunity to present national films at international venues in both countries. In addition, we are actively discussing the development of new cooperation formats, such as joint festivals and the exchange of experience in film education. I am sure such initiatives will strengthen ties between our countries and improve the quality of film production in general. This will also create new opportunities for young talents who can work on international projects and exchange experience with colleagues from other countries”, Ms. Olga Lyubimova emphasized.
“Bilateral relations between our countries are developing very successfully. I would like to express a positive opinion regarding the implemented projects, which have already brought tangible results, and special gratitude to the Russian side for the support and cooperation provided. In addition, I would like to propose considering the possibility of expanding our cooperation in art, which will strengthen cultural ties between peoples. I think it would be useful to organize mutual training programs for students to exchange experience and knowledge and initiate joint production of documentaries to develop cinematography and better understand and present each country’s culture and traditions. These steps will certainly strengthen our cooperation and create new opportunities for joint work”, Mr. Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted.
