Vietnam is a Significant Partner for Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia - President Tokayev

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Politics Academy, according to the Akorda press service, The Caspian Post reports citing Kazinform News Agency.
During the talks, the Head of State reminded of his official visit to Vietnam last year highlighting that talks held there gave a serious impulse to bilateral ties.
The President said Vietnam is a key partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia. Kazakhstan remains committed to further strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed the importance of intensifying interparliamentary cooperation.
In turn, Nguyen Xuan Thang noted the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the National Assembly are working on the fulfillment of high-level agreements signed during the visit of the Kazakh President to Vietnam.
He said the countries share common views and successfully cooperate at multilateral platforms, including the UN and CICA.
The Head of State hailed the signing of a memorandum on cooperation between the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Research and Ho Chi Minh National Politics Academy Nguyen Xuan Thang noting that it will boost joint scientific research.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart invited the President of Vietnam to visit Kazakhstan next year and attend the Astana International Forum.
