Gazprom has set a new all-time record for daily natural gas deliveries to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline.
The new record was achieved on November 1, The Caspian Post reports, citing Interfax.
Gazprom noted that the supplies are being delivered under a long-term gas purchase and sale agreement with China's CNPC.
As the Power of Siberia pipeline moves toward its annual export capacity of 38 billion cubic meters, the transportation system is being expanded through the construction of additional pipeline loops. At the same time, new production capacity is being developed at the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production hubs.
A year ago, Gazprom reached an agreement with CNPC to gradually increase annual gas supplies through the pipeline to 44 billion cubic meters. Deliveries of these additional volumes to China are scheduled to begin in December 2025.
